Wolfgang Weingart

Wolfgang Weingart was born in 1941 in Salem Valley, Germany. He is a  well known typographer and a graphic designer. Weingart's work was classifies as Swiss typography. He was a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale from 1978 to 1999. in 2005 he receivrd an award of Doctor of Fine Arts and in 2013 he was a recipient of AIGA Medal. He saw a lecturer in Europe, Asia, Australia, South and North America.
He created many abstract text (as seen above) As you can see he has put letters horizontally and vertically.  The way they are placed makes the text harder to read yet if it is viewed as an artwork it becomes more interesting and abstract.

This typography work is even more abstract and harder to read than the first one. Here you can see the text swirling or being sucked into something. most of the text is unreadable. It's like the artist doesn'w want us to focus on the text but on the image itself.

His work has received awards of exellence by Swiss Federal Department of Home Affairs in Bern.
